Thermodynamics and Kinetic Studies for the Adsorption Process of Methyl Orange by Magnetic Activated Carbons

This study investigates the adsorption behavior of methyl orange (MO) by magnetic activated carbons (MACs) with different ratios AC: Magnetite from aqueous solution. Batch experiments for MO were carried out evaluating thermodynamics and kinetics parameters onto MAC adsorbents. Variables such as pH, initial concentration dye, contact time, temperature have been analyzed. The physicochemical characteristics MACs analyzed scanning electron microscopy (SEM), surface area analyzer (BET), X-ray power diffraction. results SEM BET analysis showed that adsorbents present a porous structure large area, suitable conditions process. diffraction patterns revealed possess magnetite material. Adsorption kinetic studies pseudo-second-order model provides good description equilibrium well adjusted to Langmuir isotherm, showing maximum capacity was ratio 3:1 2:1 AC/magnetite.
